Installation Procedure

  1. Spread the console side panels apart and install the shifter assembly.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  2. Install the shifter fasteners.

    Tighten:  Tighten the shifter fasteners to 9 N.m (79 lb in).

  3. Connect the shifter assembly electrical wire harness connector.

  4. Insert the park lock cable terminal onto the park lock cam on the shifter.
  5. Slide the park lock cable into the shifter and assure that the cable locking tab is fully engaged.

  6. Snap the shift cable terminal onto the shifter pin.
  7. Insert the shift cable (2) into the shifter base.
  8. Install the shift cable retaining clip (1).
  9. Adjust the shift cable as follows.
    1. Place the shifter into the N (neutral) position.
    2. Loosen the shifter adjuster nut.
    3. Tighten the adjuster nut.

      Tighten:  Tighten the adjuster nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  10. Install the console trim plate. Refer to Console Shift Lever Bezel Replacement .
