Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Buick LaCrosse and 2005 Buick Allure. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Position the engine mount bracket to the engine.
  2. Connect the knock sensor harness connector and install the shield. Refer to Knock Sensor (KS) 2 Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L (L26 and L32).

  3. Install the rear engine mount bracket bolts to the engine. Hand tighten the bolts at this time.

  4. Install the front engine mount bracket bolts to the engine. Hand tighten the bolts at this time.
    5. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the engine mount bracket bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 102 N.m (75 lb ft).

  6. Install the engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement - Front .
  7. Install the A/C compressor to the engine. Refer to Compressor Replacement (L26) or Compressor Replacement (LY7) in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  8. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (L26) .
  9. Install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Automatic Transaxle - 4T65-E.
