Circuit/System Description: P0053

The ECM monitors the resistance on the HO2S heater circuit. If the ECM detects that the HO2S heater circuit resistance is not within the calibrated range on a cold start, engine OFF for more than 10 hours, DTC P0053 will set for HO2S 1.
