Installation Procedure

  1. Install a NEW sealing washer (3) onto the A/C compressor end of the suction hose. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  2. Remove the cap or tape from the suction port on the A/C compressor.
  3. Install the suction hose (2) to the A/C compressor.
    4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the suction hose to A/C compressor nut (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  5. Install a NEW sealing washer (2) to the evaporator tube end of the suction hose. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  6. Remove the cap or tape from the evaporator tube.
  7. Install the suction hose to the A/C evaporator tube.
  8. Install the suction hose to A/C evaporator tube bolt (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  9. Connect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
  10. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  11. Leak test the fittings of the A/C components using the J 39400-A  .
