Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Pontiac Montana SV6, 2006 Chevrolet Uplander, and 2006 Buick Terraza. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Install a NEW sealing washer (2) onto the A/C compressor side of the discharge hose. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  2. Remove the cap or tape from the A/C compressor discharge port.
  3. Install the discharge hose (3) to the A/C compressor.
    4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the discharge hose to A/C compressor nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  5. Install a NEW sealing washer (2) to the A/C condenser side of the discharge hose. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  6. Remove the cap or tape from the discharge port on the A/C condenser.
  7. Install the discharge hose to the A/C condenser.
  8. Install the discharge hose to A/C condenser bolt.

    Tighten:  The bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  9. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  10. Leak test the fittings of the A/C components using the J 39400-A  .
