Installation Procedure

  1. Install the upper control arm.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  2. Install the bolts and the nuts which secure the upper control arm to the crossmember.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 75 N.m (55 lb ft).

  3. Use 2 utility stands in order to raise the crossmember.
  4. Install the crossmember-to-underbody bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 130 N.m (96 lb ft).

  5. Install the upper control arm to the knuckle.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut which secures the upper control arm to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).

  6. Connect the shock absorber to the lower control arm. Refer to Shock Absorber Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)  or Shock Absorber Replacement (All Wheel Drive) .
  7. Connect the height sensor link to the lower control arm as necessary.
  8. Connect the park brake cable to the park brake actuator and the park brake cable bracket.
  9. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement - Rear .
  10. Install the rear wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  11. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
