Installation Procedure

    IMPORTANT: Position the wiper motor crank arm onto the pivot shaft and ensure the crank arm is positioned between the 2 dimples (2) on the wiper motor transmission assembly.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Once aligned, secure the crank arm nut (4) while holding the crank arm between the 2 motor casting dimples (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  2. Using the J 39529  , connect the transmission link (1) to the wiper motor crank arm (5). See Special Tools .
  3. Secure the wiper module. Refer to Wiper Motor Module Replacement .
  4. Connect the electrical connector to the wiper motor.
  5. Verify the operation of the wiper system.
  6. Close the hood.
