Installation Procedure

Install thermostat bypass pipe. Install thermostat bypass pipe hose (1) to lower intake manifold.
Position the thermostat bypass pipe hose clamp at the lower intake manifold.
NOTE: refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
Install the thermostat bypass pipe to front cover bolt (4).
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Install the thermostat bypass pipe to lower intake manifold bolt (3).
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Install the thermostat bypass pipe to lower intake manifold stud nuts (2).
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Install radiator inlet hose to thermostat housing.
Using a small flat-bladed screwdriver, release hose clamp retention lock at thermostat housing.

Connect heater outlet hose quick connect fitting at thermostat bypass pipe.
Position the spark plug wires.
Install the spark plug wire clip to the support.
Install the spark plug wires to the spark plugs.
Install air cleaner inlet duct. Refer to AIR CLEANER INTAKE DUCT REPLACEMENT .
Fill cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (Static Fill) .
Install fuel injector sight shield. Refer to FUEL INJECTOR SIGHT SHIELD REPLACEMENT .
