Security Indicator LED Inoperative

1 Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information
2 Arm the content theft system. Refer to Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) Description and Operation .
Does the security indicator LED illuminate?		 Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems Go to Step 3

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector containing the LED control circuit.
  3. With a fused jumper wire and appropriate terminal adapter, apply 12 volts to the security indicator control circuit.
Does the security indicator LED illuminate?		 Go to Step 6  Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the security indicator LED.
  2. Probe the ground side of the security indicator control circuit with a test lamp connected to B+.
Does the test lamp light?		 Go to Step 5  Go to Step 8 
5 Test the security indicator LED control circuit for an open or short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?		 Go to Step 11  Go to Step 7 
6 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections andConnector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?		 Go to Step 11  Go to Step 9 
7 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the security indicator LED. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?		 Go to Step 11  Go to Step 10 
8 Repair the open in the security indicator control ground circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you complete the repair?		 Go to Step 11  -
9 Replace the BCM. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup and programming.
Did you complete the replacement?		 Go to Step 11  -
10 Replace the security indicator LED. Refer to LED Indicator Replacement - Vehicle Security System .
Did you complete the replacement?		 Go to Step 11  -
11 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?		 System OK Go to Step 3
