Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Pontiac Montana SV6, 2006 Chevrolet Uplander, and 2006 Buick Terraza. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT apply thread sealant to the sensor threads. The sensor threads are coated at the factory. Applying additional sealant affects the sensors ability to detect detonation.

  1. Install and tighten the bank 1 knock sensor (1).

    Tighten:   Tighten the nuts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

  2. Connect the engine harness electrical connector (1) to the knock sensor.
  3. Install the radiator air baffle. Refer to RADIATOR AIR BAFFLE ASSEMBLIES AND DEFLECTORS .
  4. Lower the vehicle.
