Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Pontiac Montana SV6, 2006 Chevrolet Uplander, and 2006 Buick Terraza. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the EVAP canister into the forward tab of the canister bracket.
  2. Press the rear of the EVAP canister down in order to engage the rear bracket tabs.

  3. Install the EVAP canister assembly to the fuel tank.
    4. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the two attaching nuts (2) to the EVAP canister bracket at the fuel tank studs.

    Tighten:   Tighten the nut to 9 Nm (80 lb in).

  5. Install the forward attaching nut to the canister bracket.

    Tighten:   Tighten the nut to 9 Nm (80 lb in).

  6. Connect the EVAP vent hose (3), purge pipe (5) and vapor pipe (4) to the EVAP canister (1).
  7. Lower the vehicle.
