Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve (2).
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Remove the transaxle filler tube retaining fasteners to the transaxle case and position the filler tube out-of-the-way.
  4. Lower the vehicle.

  5. Remove the EGR pipe bolt and carefully pull the pipe assembly back.
  6. Remove the EGR valve bolts.
  7. Remove EGR valve.
  8. Remove the EGR valve gasket.
  9. Clean and inspect the EGR valve gasket mating surfaces.
