Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
    2. Fig 1: Locating Evaporative Emission Purge Pipe

  2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) vent hose (3), purge pipe (5) and vapor pipe (4) from the EVAP canister (1).
  3. Remove the forward attaching nut from the EVAP canister bracket.
  4. Remove the two rear attaching nuts (2) from the EVAP canister bracket at the fuel tank.
  5. Lower the EVAP canister assembly.
  6. Pull the rear canister bracket flange away from the EVAP canister.
  7. Lift the rear of the EVAP canister from the bracket to release the forward tab.
