Enabling Procedure

  1. Remove the key from the ignition.

  2. Connect the vehicle wiring harness connector to the right seat belt retractor pretensioner.
  3. Install the CPA to the right seat belt retractor pretensioner connector.

  4. Connect the right SIS wiring harness connector (2) to the right SIS (1).
  5. Install the CPA (3) to the SIS connector (1).
  6. Position SIS (1) back inside the center pillar and slide back into place and tighten the SIS fasteners.
  7. Install the right lower center pillar trim cover. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Lower Center Pillar in Interior Trim.
  8. Install the Air Bag Fuse.
  9. Install the cover for the underhood fuse center.
  10. Use caution while reaching in and turning the ignition switch to the ON position.

    The AIR BAG indicator will flash, then turn OFF.

  11. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle, if the AIR BAG warning indicator does not operate as described. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information.
