Test Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Pontiac Montana SV6, 2006 Chevrolet Uplander, and 2006 Buick Terraza. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.

  1. 5:  This step tests for a short to ground, a high resistance or an open in the seat belt tension retractor sensor signal circuit.
  2. 6:  This step tests for a short to ground, a high resistance or an open in the seat belt tension retractor sensor 5-volt reference circuit.
  3. 7:  This step tests for a short to ground, a high resistance or an open in the seat belt tension retractor sensor low reference circuit.
  4. 8:  This step tests for a short to voltage in the seat belt tension retractor sensor signal circuit.
  5. 9:  This step tests the seat belt tension retractor sensor signal circuit input voltage range.
  6. 10:  This step tests for a short to voltage in the seat belt tension retractor sensor 5-volt reference circuit.
  7. 11:  This step tests for a short to voltage in the seat belt tension retractor sensor low reference circuit.
