Installation Procedure

  1. Install a NEW water pump seal.
  2. Install the water pump.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the water pump bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the water pump bolts to 10 N.m (89 In. Lbs.).

  4. Install the water pump pulley and the water pump pulley bolts.

  5. Use the EN 46104  (1) in order to retain the water pump pulley.
  6. Install the water pump pulley bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the water pump pulley bolts to 12 N.m (106 In. Lbs.).

  7. Install the generator drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.6L (LY7).
  8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (L26 Static Fill) , Draining and Filling Cooling System (LY7 Static Fill)  or Draining and Filling Cooling System (L26, LY7, GE 47716 Fill) .
