Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Buick LaCrosse and 2006 Buick Allure. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Assemble the heater pipes and hoses to the thermostat housing.
  2. Install a new gasket to the thermostat housing.
  3. Install the thermostat housing bolts to the thermostat housing.

    Partially install the thermostat housing bolts in order to retain the gasket.

  4. Install the thermostat housing with the heater pipes, heater hoses, gasket and bolts.
    5. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the thermostat housing bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the thermostat housing bolts to 20 N.m (15 Ft. Lbs.).

  6. Install the thermostat. Refer to Thermostat Replacement (RPOs L26/L32) .
  7. Connect the heater hoses to the heater core. Refer to Heater Hoses Replacement (LY7) in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
