Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (L26 Static Fill) , Draining and Filling Cooling System (LY7 Static Fill)  or Draining and Filling Cooling System (L26, LY7, GE 47716 Fill) .
  2. Remove the lower radiator air deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle and Deflector Replacement - Lower .
  3. Use the J 38185  in order to reposition the hose clamp from the radiator. See Special Tools .
  4. Remove the radiator outlet hose (3) from the radiator (2).
  5. Lower the vehicle.

  6. Use J 38185  in order to reposition the hose clamp from the water pump housing. See Special Tools .
  7. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the water pump housing.
