Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LY7) .
  2. Remove the engine control module (ECM) module. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .

  3. Remove the generator assembly. Refer to Generator Replacement (LY7) .

  4. Remove the coolant overflow reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement .

  5. Remove the power steering reservoir. Refer to Remote Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement .
  6. Remove the camshaft covers.
  7. Remove the upper radiator hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (3.6L) .

  8. Remove the water pump. Refer to Water Pump Replacement (LY7) .
  9. Remove the engine splash shield. Refer to Splash Shield Replacement - Engine .

  10. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
  11. Remove the drive belt tensor. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
