Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Buick LaCrosse and 2008 Buick Allure. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution .
    IMPORTANT: The front seat is equipped with a seat belt pretensioner. Disable the pretensioner before you perform any work on the seat.
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the front seat head restraint. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement .
  3. Position the front seat to the full forward and the full-up position.
  4. Remove the bolts from the rear of the seat adjuster.

  6. Remove the nut from the front seat belt bracket, on the door side of the seat.

  8. Tip the seat forward, remove the position assurance pin (2), and disconnect the pretensioner electric connector (1).
  9. Disconnect the electrical body harness from the seat.
  10. Tilt the seat forward and slide the seat back to disengage the adjuster hooks holding the seat to the floor pan.
  11. Remove the front seat from the vehicle.
