Removal Procedure

  1. Open the door.
  2. Remove the rear door trim pad. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  4. Remove both push pins from the energy absorber pad (2).
  5. Grasp the energy absorber pad (1) with both hands and pull rearward to release it from the door. If necessary, warm the inner door panel to soften the adhesive.
  6. Remove the inner energy absorber pad from the door.
