Circuit/System Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Buick LaCrosse and 2008 Buick Allure. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

When replacing a body control module (BCM), the engine control module/powertrain control (ECM/PCM) must learn the new fuel enable password from the replacement BCM. If the ECM/PCM is replaced with a service replacement part, it is in a functional state to automatically learn the vehicle fuel continue password. If the BCM is replaced, the ECM must be placed in learn mode so it can learn the new BCM password. This DTC indicates the ECM/PCM is in a functional state to learn the BCM fuel enable password.
