Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (L26, LY7 GE 47716 Fill)  or Cooling System Draining and Filling (L26 Static Fill)  or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LY7 Static Fill)  or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LS4 GE47716 Fill)  or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LS4 Static Fill) .
  2. Remove the lower radiator air deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Lower Baffle and Deflector Replacement .
  3. Use the J 38185  in order to reposition the hose clamp from the radiator. See Special Tools .
  4. Remove the radiator outlet hose (3) from the radiator (2).
  5. Lower the vehicle.

  7. Use J 38185  in order to reposition the hose clamp from the water pump housing. See Special Tools .
  8. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the water pump housing.
