Installation Procedure

  1. Position the park brake cable in the vehicle.
  2. Install the cable end fitting into the caliper lever. Ensure that the locking tabs are properly seated.
  3. Feed the opposite end of the cable through the wheel opening toward the rear support assembly.
    4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  4. Remove the caliper guide bolt and reinstall the brake caliper in the proper position.

    Tighten:  Tighten the guide bolts to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).

  5. Install the equalizer stud to the equalizer nut, which is part of the equalizer assembly.

    Take up the cable slack at the equalizer.

  6. Install the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Adjust the park brake system. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment (L26 and L32) .
