Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to Brake Dust Caution .

  1. Remove the brake caliper from the mounting bracket and support the brake caliper (2) with heavy mechanic's wire (1), or equivalent. It is not necessary to disconnect the hydraulic brake flexible hose from the caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (JL9)  or Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (J65) .

  3. Remove the brake pads (9, 10) from the brake caliper bracket (12).
  4. Remove the brake pad retainers (11) from the brake caliper bracket (12).
  5. Remove the brake caliper bracket (12). Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement .
  6. Mount the brake caliper bracket (12) in a vise.
