Diagnostic Aids

Perform a thorough inspection of the PCM, ECM, and EBCM connector X1 wiring. Watching for poor terminal contact, the presence of corrosion, and damaged terminals. Perform a thorough inspection of the connectors. Failure to carefully and fully inspect the wiring and the connectors may result in misdiagnosis. Misdiagnosis causes part replacement with the malfunction still present.
Ensure both the PCM or ECM connector X1 and the EBCM connector are properly retained when connected or reconnected.
