Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Buick LaCrosse and 2008 Buick Allure. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Apply a light coating of silicone lubricant to the brake pedal pivot spacer.

  3. Install the brake pedal pivot bushings (1) and spacer (2).

  5. Install the brake pedal (1).
  6. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

  7. Install the brake pedal bolt (1) and nut (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt and nut to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

  9. Connect the brake pedal pushrod (1) to the brake pedal.

  11. Install the brake pedal pushrod bushing (1).

  13. Install the brake pedal pushrod nut (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 13 N.m (115 lb in).

  14. Install the wiring harness to the bracket clips.
  15. Install the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement .
  16. Insert the top of the BCM up into the mounting bracket, then engage the bottom of the BCM into the mounting bracket slot.
  17. Install the left instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
