Assembly Procedure

  1. Inspect the differential carrier internal gear assembly (693) for the following conditions:
    • Damaged or worn bushings
    • Plugged lube oil holes
    • Damaged case splines
    • Damaged or worn gear teeth
    • A damaged or worn park pawl assembly (694)
    • A damaged snap ring (692)

  3. Install the differential carrier internal gear assembly (693) into the case. Align the park pawl assembly with the park pawl actuator assembly.

  5. Use J 28585  or a long screwdriver in order to install the snap ring (692) into the case as shown. See Special Tools .
