Removal Procedure

- Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
- Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
- Turn the steering wheel to the right in order to allow clearance to remove the pump.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Disconnect the power steering pump inlet hose from the power steering pump.
- Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump.
- Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts.
- Remove the power steering pump from the engine.
- Cap the power steering pump fittings and hoses to prevent contamination.
- Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (L26) or Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LS4) or Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LY7) .
