Removal Procedure

  1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  3. Turn the steering wheel to the right in order to allow clearance to remove the pump.
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  5. Remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  6. Disconnect the power steering pump inlet hose from the power steering pump.
  7. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump.

  9. Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts.
  10. Remove the power steering pump from the engine.
  11. Cap the power steering pump fittings and hoses to prevent contamination.
  12. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (L26)  or Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LS4)  or Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LY7) .
