Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LY7) .
  2. Fig 1: View Of ECM Bolts

  3. Remove the engine control module (ECM) module. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .

  5. Remove the generator assembly. Refer to Generator Replacement (LY7) .
  6. Remove the coolant overflow reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement (L27, LY7) .
  7. Remove the power steering reservoir. Refer to Remote Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (LY7) .
  8. Remove the camshaft covers.
  9. Remove the radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LY7) .
  10. Remove the coolant outlet. Refer to Water Outlet Removal .

  12. Remove the water pump. Refer to Water Pump Replacement (LY7) .
  13. Remove the engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement .

  15. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Removal .
  16. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .

  18. Remove the engine front cover from the engine block. Refer to Engine Front Cover Removal .
