Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Buick LaCrosse and 2008 Buick Allure. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (L26) .
  3. IMPORTANT: Do not discharge the air conditioning system.
  4. Remove the A/C compressor from the engine. Refer to Compressor Replacement (L26) .
  5. Secure the compressor away from the bracket area.
  6. Remove the engine mount. Refer to Engine Front Mount Replacement .
  7. Remove the engine knock sensor shield and disconnect the sensor harness. Refer to Knock Sensor 2 Replacement .

  9. Remove the front engine mount bracket bolts from the engine.

  11. Remove the rear engine mount bracket bolts from the engine.
  12. Remove the engine mount bracket from the vehicle.
