Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Buick LaCrosse and 2008 Buick Allure. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the battery heat shield. Refer to Battery Heat Shield Replacement (LY7) .
    2. Fig 1: Identifying Battery Tray & Bolt

  2. Install the battery into the vehicle.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the battery retainer and bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery retainer bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Connect the battery positive cable to the battery.

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery cable bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  5. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (L26)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LY7)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LS4) .
