Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (L26)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LY7)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LS4) .
  2. Remove the right front diagonal brace. Refer to Front Fender Upper Diagonal Brace Replacement .
  3. Loosen the positive battery terminal nut.
  4. Remove the positive battery terminal (1) from the battery.
  5. Remove the battery hold down.
  6. IMPORTANT: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during removal.
  7. Remove the battery.
  8. Remove the insulator from the battery.
