Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Buick LaCrosse and 2008 Buick Allure. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the affected module.
  2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 1.0 ohm of resistance between the ground circuit and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  3. Ignition ON, measure between the Battery Positive Voltage circuit and ground. The readings should not differ by more than 2 volts than the battery terminal voltage.
    • If greater than the specified value, test the Battery Positive Voltage circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  4. If the circuit tests normal, replace the affected module.
