Removal Procedure

  1. Open the front door.

  2. Support the door in the fully open position.

    CAUTION: Before removing the spring, cover the spring with a towel to prevent the spring from flying and possibly causing damage or personal injury.
  3. Use the J 36604  to remove the hinge spring from the door. See Special Tools .

    Place the hinge spring tool J 36604  as close to each end of the spring as possible. See Special Tools .

  4. Remove and discard the old hinge spring.
