Installation Procedure

  1. Use the J 36604  to install the hinge spring to the door. See Special Tools .

    Place the hinge spring tool J 36604  as close to each end of the spring as possible. See Special Tools .

  2. Install the new hinge spring into the hinge.

    Ensure that the hinge spring is fully seated and remove the J 36604  tool. See Special Tools .

  3. Inspect the door for proper operation.
  4. Lubricate the hinge roller pins using multi-purpose lubricant Superlube GM P/N 12346241 (Canadian P/N 10953474) or an equivalent.
  5. Close the door.
