Diagnostic Aids

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Buick LaCrosse and 2008 Buick Allure. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The CHMSL/BKUP fuse supplies voltage to the BCM for the operation of the backup lamps and center high mount stop lamp (CHMSL). If both the CHMSL and backup lamps are inoperative, test the supply voltage circuit for an open/high resistance. If the CHMSL/BKUP fuse is found to be open, test the supply voltage circuit, the backup lamps control circuit, and the CHMSL control circuit for a short to ground.
