Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Buick LaCrosse and 2008 Buick Allure. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Install new sealing washers onto the A/C compressor hose assembly. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
- Install the A/C compressor hose to the A/C compressor.
- Install the A/C compressor hose nut to the A/C compressor.
Tighten: Tighten the nut to 17 N.m (12.5 lb ft).
- Install new seals washers to the A/C compressor hose assembly and evaporator tube. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
- Install the A/C compressor hose to the evaporator tube.
- Install the A/C compressor hose to evaporator tube nut.
Tighten: Tighten the nut to 17 N.m (12.5 lb ft).
- Install the A/C compressor hose to the condenser.
- Install the A/C compressor hose nut to the condenser.
Tighten: Tighten the nut to 17 N.m (12.5 lb ft).
- Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for the 3.8L engine.
- Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
- Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A . See Special Tools .
NOTE:

IMPORTANT:
Use a 20 mm wrench or pliers to hold the A/C condenser block fitting, this will prevent the A/C line from twisting while torquing the A/C line nut.
