Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Buick LaCrosse and 2008 Buick Allure. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the IPC.
  2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 1 ohm of resistance between the IPC ground circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If greater than 1 ohm, test the ground circuit terminal 1 for an open/high resistance.
  3. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates when connected between the IPC battery positive voltage circuit terminal 12 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the battery positive voltage circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the IPC.
