Circuit/System Verification
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Buick LaCrosse and 2008 Buick Allure. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition ON, verify that the charge indicator illuminates during the self test when the ignition is turned ON.
- If the charge indicator does not illuminate, replace the IPC.
- Ignition ON, engine running, increase the engine speed to 1,500 RPM.
- Verify that the scan tool Battery Voltage parameter is between 12.8-15.5 volts for the body control module (BCM), the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM), and the instrument panel cluster (IPC).
- If all of the Battery Voltage parameters are not within the specified range for all of the modules, refer to Charging System Test .
- If the Battery Voltage parameter is not within the specified range for the BCM, refer to Body Control Module Voltage Out Of Range in Circuit/System Testing .
- If the Battery Voltage parameter is not within the specified range for the ECM/PCM, refer to Engine Control Module/Powertrain Control Module Voltage Out Of Range in Circuit/System Testing .
- If the Battery Voltage parameter is not within the specified range for the IPC, refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Voltage Out Of Range in Circuit/System Testing .
