2	Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF. Press and release the Eng/Met button. Does the mph indicator and then the km/h indicator illuminate after each button activation?	Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems	Go to Step 3
3	Install a scan tool. With a scan tool, observe the English/Metric Status parameter in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) data list. Press the Eng/Met button. Does the English/Metric Status parameter display Active?	Go to Step 4	Go to Step 5
4	Replace the IPC. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming. Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 5	-
5	Operate the system in order to verify the repair. Did you correct the condition?	System OK	Go to Step 2
