Heater Pipe Adapter - Outlet

HEATER PIPE ADAPTER REPLACEMENT - OUTLET

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (LY7) Draining and Filling Cooling System (L26) in Cooling System.
2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield.




3. Remove the heater outlet hose from the pipe adapter.
4. Use J 38185 in order to position aside the heater hose clamp.




5. Remove the heater outlet adapter pipe mounting bolt.
6. Remove the heater outlet adapter pipe.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Lubricate the O-ring with coolant.




2. Install the heater outlet adapter pipe.
3. Install the heater outlet adapter pipe mounting bolt.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the bolt to 6 N.m (53 lb in).




4. Install the heater outlet hose to the pipe adapter.
5. Use J 38185 in order to secure the heater core hose clamp.
6. Install the fuel injector sight shield.
7. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (LY7) Draining and Filling Cooling System (L26) in Cooling System.
