AUDIO TOO LOUD AT LOW SETTINGS

DIAGNOSTIC FAULT INFORMATION

IMPORTANT: Always perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle prior to using this diagnostic procedure.

CIRCUIT/SYSTEM DESCRIPTION




The steering wheel control signal circuit applies a different voltage to the radio based on a resistance that is placed into the circuit when a steering wheel control switch is pressed. These different voltage levels signal the radio to do the appropriate function based on the steering wheel button pressed.

Circuit/System Testing
1. Turn ignition ON.
2. Turn the radio ON.
3. Test the steering wheel controls signal circuit for a short to voltage.

REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT: Always perform the 143214 after completing the diagnostic procedure.
