Installation Procedure

  1. Position the trim plate to the I/P.
  2. Install the trim plate by pressing in at each retainer location until seated correctly.
  3. Return the steering column to the original position.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the screw to right end of the trim plate.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the filler panel to the lower section of the I/P. Refer to Filler Panel Replacement - Outer - Instrument Panel (I/P) Lower Trim .
  7. Close the I/P compartment.

  9. Install the outer trim covers by pressing each cover into place until seated correctly.
  10. If equipped with column shift, adjust the shift lever to PARK.
  11. Install the front floor console, if equipped. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor .
  12. Install the accessory trim plate, if not equipped with a front floor console. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory .
  13. Install the steering column filler panel. Refer to Steering Column Filler Replacement .
  14. Release the park brake.
