Installation Procedure

Install the upper engine mount strut bracket.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Install the upper engine mount strut bracket bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the upper engine mount strut bracket bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
Install the fuel rail assembly. Refer to Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement (L36) or Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement (L67) in Engine Controls - 3.8L.
Install the EVAP emissions canister purge valve. Refer to Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement (L36) or Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement (L67) in Engine Controls - 3.8L.

Install the lower engine mount strut bracket, bolts and nut.
- Tighten the lower engine mount strut bracket nut.
  Tighten: Tighten the lower engine mount strut bracket nut to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
- Tighten the lower engine mount strut bracket bolts.
  Tighten: Tighten the lower engine mount strut bracket bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

Install the right engine mount strut to the upper engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right .
Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L36) or Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L67) .
Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
