Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L36) or Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L67) in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.

  2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve electrical connector.
  3. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve purge pipe and vacuum supply hose.

  4. Release the retaining tab on the EVAP canister purge mounting bracket and remove the EVAP canister purge valve.
