Installation Procedure

  1. Position the rear compartment lid to the hinges with an assistant.
  2. Install the nuts to the rear compartment lid hinges.

    Do not torque the nuts until after the lid has been aligned.

  3. Align the rear compartment lid for even gaps.
    4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Tighten the rear compartment lid hinge nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the rubber height adjustment bumpers.
    6. IMPORTANT: When installing a new compartment lid, use mechanics wire to pull the wiring harness into position.
  6. Install the rear compartment lid wiring harness to the rear compartment lid.
  7. Install the rear compartment lock cylinder.
  8. Service replacement lids do not have a key cylinder slot.
  9. Install the rear compartment lid latch. Refer to Latch Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid .
  10. Connect the electrical connectors to the electrical components on the rear compartment lid.

  11. Install the rear spoiler, if equipped. Refer to Spoiler Replacement - Rear .
  12. Remove the protective coverings.
  13. Adjust the rear compartment height by turning the black rubber bumpers by hand.

  14. Close the rear compartment lid.
