Removal Procedure

  1. Open the attachment cover on the upper guide loop of the front seat belt.
  2. Remove the bolt (1) from the guide loop attachment on the upper seat belt.

  3. Remove the guide loop attachment from the adjuster bracket.
  4. Pull the door weather-strip from the pinchweld flange as needed.
  5. For a vehicle without the side air bag, use J 38778  to disengage the upper and lower clips (2) on the trim panel.
  6. For vehicles equipped with the side air bag use the following procedure.
    • Use J 38778  to disengage the lower clip on the trim panel.
    • Pull out on the lower edge of the panel until to a 45-degree angle to the center pillar.
    • Slide the panel down to disengage the top T-hook (1).

  7. Remove the upper trim panel from the vehicle.
