Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: When removing a power window switch, the ignition switch must be in the OFF position. This will eliminate the possibility of shorting out the power window switch when using a metal tool to remove the power window switch from the wiring harness.
  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door .
  2. Disengage the electrical connectors from the following switches:
    • Rear compartment lid switch (1)
    • The power window switch (2)
    • The door lock switch (3)
    • The power mirror switch(4)

  3. Remove the electrical harness from the trim panel.
  4. Using a small, flat-bladed tool, remove the switches from the mounting bezel.
