Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable.
  2. Remove the throttle body air inlet duct.
  3. Remove the engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  4. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
  5. Remove the three-way catalytic converter pipe from the right (rear) exhaust manifold. Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACEMENT (3.1L) in AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SERVICING .
  6. Remove the right front wheel and tire.
  7. Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT - ENGINE in BODY FRONT END .
  8. Remove the engine mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts.

  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Raise the engine, using the J 28467-B. Refer to Engine Support Fixture .
  11. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
  12. Remove the engine mount upper nuts.
  13. Remove the engine mount bracket from the engine mount.
